Creating a Size Chart Manually

How to manually enter your size chart data into SmartSize

Updated today

You can enter your size chart data directly into SmartSize using the size table editor. This is useful when you have your measurements available in a spreadsheet, document, or you're creating measurements from scratch.

Accessing the Size Table Editor

  1. Create a new quiz or open an existing quiz

  2. Navigate to the Size Table section

  3. The size table editor displays your sizes and measurements in a grid format

Adding Size Entries

Step 1: Add a Size

  1. Click the Add Size button

  2. Enter the size name (e.g., "S", "M", "L", "36", "38", etc.)

  3. A new row will appear in the size table

Step 2: Enter Measurement Values

For each size, enter the minimum and maximum values for each measurement:

  • Min Chest: The smallest chest measurement that fits this size

  • Max Chest: The largest chest measurement that fits this size

  • Min Waist: The smallest waist measurement that fits this size

  • Max Waist: The largest waist measurement that fits this size

  • Min Hip: The smallest hip measurement that fits this size

  • Max Hip: The largest hip measurement that fits this size

Note: The available measurements depend on your quiz's product family. Lingerie quizzes also show underbust, while pet quizzes show species-specific measurements.

Setting the Measurement Unit

Below the size table, you'll find a unit selection setting:

  • Metric (cm): Enter values in centimeters

  • Imperial (in): Enter values in inches

SmartSize automatically converts values for the user.

Size Ordering

Sizes should be ordered from smallest to largest. This is important for:

  • Correct display in the size chart

  • Proper recommendations when measurements fall between sizes

Reordering Sizes:

  • Drag and drop rows to reorder them

  • The first row should be your smallest size

  • The last row should be your largest size

Measurement Ranges Tips

Creating Effective Ranges:

  • Consecutive ranges: Each size's max should typically equal the next size's min (or be close to it)

  • Slight overlap: You can have ranges overlap slightly for customers between sizes

  • Avoid gaps: Large gaps between ranges can leave some customers without recommendations

Validation

SmartSize validates your size chart to ensure:
