How to Create a Quiz — Part 3: Advanced Settings & Verifying Your Quiz
In Part 2, you named your quiz, reviewed your measurements, and filled in your size chart. Now it's time to configure the Advanced Settings and verify your quiz results before going live.
Step 1: Review Advanced Settings
Scroll down past the Measurement unit section and you'll find the Advanced settings panel. These settings have store-level defaults and rarely need to be changed per quiz — but it's worth understanding what they do.
Click Collapse or Expand to toggle the panel open or closed.
There are two settings here:
Garment Fit
The Garment fit setting controls how SmartSize matches a shopper's body measurements to your size chart. By default, it uses Store default rules — all measurements use standard rules and the closest size is recommended.
If you need to customize this (for example, to prioritize certain measurements or adjust the fit logic), click the Edit button on the right side.
💡 For most brands, the default setting works perfectly. You can always fine-tune this later.
Measurement Review Step
The Measurement review step determines what happens after the AI estimates the shopper's body measurements. When Enabled, shoppers see a screen where they can review and fine-tune the predicted values before seeing their size recommendation.
Click Edit to change this setting. You'll see two options:
Show review step — After the AI predicts measurements, show a review screen where the shopper can adjust values before getting their recommendation. This is the recommended option.
Skip to recommendation — Skip the review step entirely and go straight from the quiz questions to the size recommendation.
We recommend keeping Show review step enabled — it gives shoppers more confidence in their recommendation and lets them correct any values that feel off.
Step 2: Verify Your Quiz Results
Before publishing your quiz, it's important to test it. The Verify your quiz results section provides a guided quick test in 4 steps:
Fill in your size table — Make sure your size chart data is complete. You'll see a green "Size table filled" checkmark once this is done.
Enable measurement review — Turn on the review step so you can see the predicted measurements during testing. A green "Review step enabled" checkmark confirms this.
Walk through the quiz — Click Show preview in the top-right corner to open the Live Preview panel. Walk through the quiz as if you were a shopper — enter height, weight, and age, then click Next to see the results. The green "Live preview open" checkmark appears once you open it.
Verify the results — Check whether the recommended size matches what you'd expect for the body type you tested. Try a few different body types to make sure the recommendations feel right. Do not hesitate to book a short call with our team if you have any questions regarding your results.
The Live Preview panel (shown on the right side of the screen) lets you walk through the quiz exactly as your shoppers will experience it. Use the sliders to adjust height, weight, and age, then click Next to see the size recommendation.
⚠️ Tip: Try testing with a few different body types (e.g., someone petite vs. someone tall) to make sure the recommendations make sense across the range.
What's Next?
Your quiz is now configured and tested. In Part 4, you'll learn how to link your quiz to specific products so shoppers can find their perfect size.
Don't forget to click Save in the top-right corner to save your progress!
