SmartSize button placement controls where shoppers open a size chart or fit quiz on a product page.
These options apply to both SmartSize storefront buttons:
Size Chart button for size charts
Find my size button for fit quizzes
Some screenshots show size chart settings, but the same placement concepts apply to the fit quiz button.
Placement methods

Automatic placement
Automatic placement lets SmartSize find a suitable location near the product form.
Use automatic placement when:
your product page uses a standard Shopify product form
the button appears near the size selector or add-to-cart area
you do not need exact theme-editor control
If SmartSize cannot find a stable selector in your theme, automatic placement shows a warning in the SmartSize dashboard and suggests using a different placement method.
Floating button
Floating placement shows the button independently of the product form.
Use floating placement when:
automatic placement does not work with the theme structure
the product form is heavily customized
you need a quick visible fallback
Check that the floating button does not cover important product content, chat widgets, or checkout buttons.
App block placement
App block placement lets you place the SmartSize button manually in the Shopify theme editor.
Use app block placement when:
you want the button inside a specific product information section
your theme supports Shopify app blocks on product templates
automatic placement is not reliable for your theme
Place the SmartSize app block in the product template where you want the button to appear, then save the template.
Variant labels
Variant label placement places the button near size choices, variant labels, or swatches.
Use this option when shoppers choose a size from a visible variant area and the SmartSize button should be close to that choice.
Custom placement
Custom placement uses a CSS selector to choose where the SmartSize button should appear.
Use custom placement when:
automatic placement does not detect the right area
the theme uses custom product components
a developer or SmartSize support gives you a selector to use
SmartSize validates the selector and shows whether it matched an element on the current page.
Custom integration and trigger button
Custom integration is for developer-built storefronts or heavily customized themes.
Use this only when normal placement methods are not suitable. It may require editing theme code or adding a custom trigger element.
