Create your first fit quiz

Create a quiz, let AI build its size table from an image, link it to a product, and turn on the theme extension — your first fit quiz live in minutes.

Let's get your first fit quiz live on your store. You'll create the quiz, let AI build its size table from an existing chart image, link it to a product, and turn it on — no manual data entry needed.

Step 1: Start a new quiz

From the SmartSize Home screen, find the Fit quizzes card and click Create quiz. You can also go to Fit quizzes and click New quiz.

Step 2: Choose who it's for

Select who will be using the quiz. This decides the body illustrations and measurements your shoppers will see.

Step 3: Select body parts to measure

Toggle the measurements your quiz should use. One important rule: a Prediction quiz can only work with Bust, Waist, and Hips — if you plan to choose Prediction in the next step, leave the other body parts off.

Step 4: Choose the quiz type

For this guide we'll use Prediction: shoppers answer a few simple questions — height, weight, age — and SmartSize predicts their size. No tape measure needed. The other two types ask shoppers to enter their body measurements: Precision works for any garment, and Lingerie is the same idea with how-to-measure images made for lingerie. Click Create quiz.

Step 5: Name your quiz

Your quiz opens in the editor. The name is only visible to you — a consistent pattern like WOMEN | JEANS | SS 2027 keeps quizzes easy to find as your list grows.

Step 6: Build the size table

The quiz needs a size table to make recommendations. You can type it in by hand, but there are two much faster options:

  • Upload image — AI converts a size chart image into the right format for you.

  • Paste table — copy the data from an existing table, e.g. Google Sheets or Excel. Important: the pasted data must follow the same column structure as the target table.

We'll upload an image.

Click Upload image and choose the size chart from your computer.

SmartSize shows a preview of the image it received.

Tell it what your image contains — Body measurements, Product measurements, or a mix of both — and click Start Extraction.

When the extraction finishes, Smartsy, the SmartSize assistant, explains exactly what it extracted and how it organized your data.

If something doesn't look right, there are two ways to fix it: describe the change in Smartsy's box in plain language, or adjust the setup yourself. For example, our jeans chart has no data in the bust column, so we can remove that measurement — click Edit in the Measurements card…

…and untick Chest.

The chest columns disappear from the size table.

Finally, verify that Smartsy selected the right measurement unit — Metric (cm) or Imperial (in).

Step 7: Connect to a size chart (optional)

Connecting the quiz to an existing size chart makes sure they both show up on the same products — product display rules stay in sync, and you can edit them from either side. Click Choose size chart

…and pick the chart you want to pair with the quiz.

For this article we'll keep it simple and link the quiz directly to a product instead.

Step 8: Link it to products

Under Product display rules, click Products and select where the quiz should appear, then click Select.

The matching products list confirms your rule works.

Step 9: Review the quiz

Use the live preview to click through the quiz exactly as your shoppers will experience it.

Step 10: Set it to Active and save

First switch the status to Active, then click Save.

Step 11: Turn on the fit quiz extension

If the fit quiz extension isn't enabled on your theme yet, a message appears — click Turn on extension.

Your theme editor opens with the Fit quiz app embed turned on. This is also where you customize the button and the recommendation text. Click Save in the theme editor.

Step 12: See it on your storefront

On the Products page, click Refresh to update the product links…

…then click Preview next to the linked product to jump straight to it.

The FIND MY SIZE link appears next to the size selector…

…and opens your quiz. Shoppers answer a few quick questions and get the right size, instantly.

💡 Tip: Once a shopper completes the quiz, their size is remembered and applied across your whole store. You can restyle the button, change the accent color, and fine-tune recommendations any time in Settings.
