Switching from Classic SmartSize to the new SmartSize

Before you continue reading, please note that the new SmartSize version is designed for merchants who want to add fit quizzes to their store, translate size charts in bulk using AI, or benefit from our latest size chart editor and all future features and improvements.

The classic version will continue to be maintained and supported, but all future features, enhancements, and innovations will be developed exclusively for the new SmartSize version.

Thanks for your interest in upgrading SmartSize versions!

Moving from Classic SmartSize to the new SmartSize is simple: our team does the migration for you, and nothing changes on your store until you choose to switch. Your part takes about 10 minutes.

Here's the whole process at a glance:

  • We do: migrate your size charts (steps 1–3)

  • You do: pick a plan and switch your theme to the new size charts (steps 4–6)

💡 Nothing changes on your storefront while we migrate. Your Classic size charts keep working exactly as they do today, right up until you flip the switch in step 5.

Step 1: Approve our access request

Our team sends a collaborator access request to your store. It's limited access — only what we need to migrate your size charts — and you can remove it at any time.

You'll find the request in your Shopify admin under Settings → Users and permissions. Click Accept and let us know once you have done so.

We'll take it from there.

Step 2: We move your size charts

Our team will use our automated AI solutions to move your Classic size charts in the new SmartSize. You don't need to do anything — and your store keeps showing your Classic size charts as usual.

Step 3: We email you when it's ready

Within the same day or latest by the next day, you'll get an email from us confirming the migration is complete. From that moment, opening SmartSize shows the new admin interface, with your size charts already in it.

Step 4: Choose your plan

Before changing anything on your theme, go to the Plans page in SmartSize and subscribe to the plan that fits your store.

You can compare plans and features at smartsize.io/pricing.

Step 5: Switch your storefront to the new size charts

This is the moment your Classic size charts are replaced by the new ones. Two quick actions in your Shopify theme editor, in this order:

a) Turn ON the new SmartSize app embed (size charts & fit quizzes).

b) Turn OFF the Classic size chart embed (size chart legacy)

Click Save in the theme editor. Doing it in this order means your store is never without size charts — not even for a second.

Step 6: Check a product page

Open a product that had a size chart. You'll see your new size chart live on your storefront — same products, new look.

That's it — you're fully on the new SmartSize. 🎉
