Use this guide when you changed something in SmartSize or Shopify, but the storefront still shows the old version.
This can happen after editing a size chart, changing button placement, updating product display rules, turning on translations, or saving app embed settings in the Shopify theme editor.
Symptoms
You may see one of these symptoms:
a size chart still shows old content
a translated size chart does not appear in the storefront language
the Size Chart or Find my size button still uses the old label
a button placement change does not appear on the product page
a product should show a chart or quiz, but nothing changed after editing product display rules
SmartSize looks correct in the editor, but the live storefront looks different
Quick checks
Start with these checks before changing advanced settings.
1. Confirm the change was saved in SmartSize
If you edited a size chart, fit quiz, product display rule, or SmartSize setting, click Save before checking the storefront.
SmartSize shows a saved confirmation after changes are saved.
If you leave the editor before saving, the storefront keeps the previous version.
2. Confirm the Shopify theme editor was saved
If you changed app embed settings in Shopify, you must also save the Shopify theme editor.
This applies when you turn on an app extension or adjust app embed button settings.
After Shopify shows Changes saved, return to the storefront and refresh the product page.
3. Check that you are viewing the live theme
A change made in a draft theme does not affect the live storefront.
If the storefront still looks unchanged, confirm that you saved the change in the theme shoppers are using.
For SmartSize app extensions, the App extensions card can help you check live theme status.
4. Refresh the storefront page
Open the product page again and refresh it.
If you are testing several changes quickly, try:
refreshing the page
opening the product page in a private browser window
checking the page on another device
waiting a few minutes before testing again
This helps rule out browser cache or an old page state.
5. Check that you are testing the right product
If you changed product display rules, confirm that the product you are viewing matches the rule.
Open the chart or quiz in SmartSize and check the matching product list.
If the product is not listed, update the product display rules and save again.
6. Check the storefront language
If the issue is related to translations, make sure you are viewing the storefront in the translated language.
For size chart content, confirm that size chart translations are active and that the language shows translated content.
For button labels, confirm that the button label was translated in Shopify Translate & Adapt.

For detailed steps, see Set up product display rules.
Cause: the change was made in a draft theme
What happens: The change appears in the theme editor preview, but not on the live storefront.
Fix: Open the live theme in Shopify and apply the same app embed or app block change there.
Cause: the storefront language does not match the translation
What happens: The translation exists, but the storefront still shows the original language.
Fix: Check that the storefront language is set correctly in Shopify and that you are viewing the translated version of the storefront.
For size chart content, see Translate size chart content. For button labels, see Translate SmartSize button labels.
Cause: button placement needs a different method
What happens: The app extension is active and the chart or quiz matches the product, but the button still does not appear where expected.
Fix: Try another placement method, such as floating button or app block placement.
For detailed steps, see Choose where the SmartSize button appears.
Check the result
After applying a fix:
Save the change in SmartSize or Shopify.
Open the matching product page on the live storefront.
Refresh the page.
Confirm that the expected change appears.
If testing translations, switch to the translated storefront language.
If it still does not work
Contact SmartSize support and include:
the product URL where the change is not appearing
what you changed
where you made the change: SmartSize, Shopify theme editor, or Shopify Translate & Adapt
a screenshot of the saved setting
a screenshot of the storefront result
the storefront language, if the issue is translation-related
This helps support check whether the issue is caused by saving, theme setup, product matching, or language settings.
