Just installed SmartSize? Welcome! This guide walks you through the built-in setup checklist — four quick steps to get your first size quiz live on your store.

The whole process takes about 10 minutes. Let's go through it step by step.

When you open SmartSize for the first time, the Get Started checklist is front and center on your Home page. It tracks your progress across four steps:

A progress bar at the top shows how many steps you've completed.

Click on Create your first quiz to expand the step. You'll see a brief description and a + Create quiz button.

Clicking + Create quiz takes you to the quiz builder where you'll configure your quiz type, target audience, size chart, and product links. Once you've created and saved your quiz, this step is automatically marked as complete.

Next, you need to add the SmartSize app block to your Shopify theme so the quiz button appears on your product pages.

Click on 'Add app block' to open the selected theme. This will automatically add SmartSize's app block. Drag and drop it in the relevant position.

Once the block is in place, click Save in the top-right corner of the theme editor.

Now it's time to make SmartSize match your brand. Expand the Customize design step and click Open settings to go to the Settings page.

From Settings, you can customize the quiz button label, colors, and positioning, as well as the look and feel of the quiz pop-up itself. Once you're happy with how everything looks, come back to the Home page and check the Done! I've customized my quiz checkbox to mark this step as complete.

Almost there! The final step is to verify everything works on your live storefront. Expand Check your store and click Visit store to open your store in a new tab.

Navigate to a product page that has a quiz linked to it. You should see the SmartSize button (e.g., "Find my size"). Click it to run through the quiz and confirm the recommendation appears correctly.

Once you've verified everything, come back and check Done! I can see the quiz in my store. The checklist will show a Setup complete badge — you're all set! 🎉

Once you've completed all four steps, you can dismiss the checklist by clicking the ✕ button in the top-right corner. This clears it from your Home page so you have a clean view of your quiz overview and plan usage.

If you ever want to revisit the checklist, scroll to the bottom of the Home page and click Show setup guide. It will reappear with all your progress intact.
